Thermoash - the most popular type of wood for outdoor use.
Thermoash a few years became one of the most recognizable type of wood in architecture, parquet and furniture industry. (For example, the Italian furniture factory "B & B" in the collection of 2011-12, actively uses thermoash from USA).
Proven successful thermoash of indoor high humidity - bathrooms, showers and swimming pools. Here thermoash completely replaces ceramic tile. (For example in a new Hilton l in Amsterdam all toilets and bathrooms are made of thermoash.)
Normawood imports to Ukraine products from thermoash in a variety of forms:
- decking
- parquet
- industrial parquet
- facade profiles
- joinery board
Warranty on thermoash external use - 30 years.
General Description
American Ash in appearance similar to European ash. Sapwood varies from light brown to almost white, while the heartwood from gray-brown to light brown, and pale yellow with brown stripes. The wood is generally straight grained with a coarse uniform texture. The presence of light sapwood, and the degree of light-colored, and other characteristics vary depending on the growing region. For example, ash wood timber from South which is growing rapidly will contain more sapwood and therefore a higher percentage of white. However, compared to the Northern ash it has a more open grain texture.
Physical and mechanical properties
Ash has very good strength properties relative to its weight. It has excellent impact resistance and is suitable for bending under the influence of steam. For more information about the strength you can get from the publication AHEC "American hardwood in structural design."
Specific gravity (12% MC) | 0.60 |
The average weight (12% MC) | 673 Kg/m3 |
Average volume shrinkage (moisture green wood to 6% MC) | 6.2% |
Module tensile strength of | 103.425 MPa |
Modulus of elasticity of | 11,997 MPa |
Compressive strength (parallel to grain) | 51.092 MPa |
Hardness | 5871 N |
Performance
Ash well to machining, mounting screws and nails, bonding, it can stain and polish to complete the decoration. It dries fairly easily with minimal loss of quality. Operating a small deformation.
